Explore our archival collections

Using the search field below you can search our archives. Many of the archives will only have descriptions of the archival collections, this will include general information about the subject matter, context and how it was collected. Almost all archives are in Dutch and not all have been digitised. If you would like to view these archives you can make an appointment to view them in our archives reading room. 

You can make an appointment using the appointment button below and the material should be ready for your appointment. If there are restrictions on viewing the archives, you will be informed in advance. 

It is also possible to visit the reading room without an appointment, however we cannot guarentee when the material will be delivered to the reading room.

Bouwdossiers en pandkaarten

Search here through building plans by address of buildings in Rotterdam up to October 2010. Here you will find descriptions of building files present in the Rotterdam City Archives and scans if digitized.

Search by address
Always search via advanced search on street name and house number without addition. This way you can also search within house number ranges in the case of apartments.

View the overview of construction drawings on our website (Dutch only) to see whether we have the building plans  for the property you are looking for. If in doubt, please contact us.

View non-digitized files

Visit the Rotterdam City Archives to view building plans if they have not yet been digitized. Make an appointment in advance so that the plans are waiting for you on the selected date. Or request a building plan yourself in advance by clicking on the request icon (folder icon) and select 'ik heb nog geen bezoekerspas'. 

Door leestekens in uw zoekopdracht te gebruiken, zoekt u specifieker of juist breder:

  • Gebruik een vraagteken (?) om één letter te vervangen.
  • Gebruik een sterretje (*) om meer letters te vervangen.
  • Gebruik een dollarteken ($) voor uw zoekterm voor resultaten die op elkaar lijken.
  • Gebruik een minteken (-) om zoektermen uit te sluiten.
  • Gebruik een Dubbele aanhalingstekens (" ") aan het begin en einde van uw zoektermen om naar de exacte combinatie van woirden te zoeken.
